Linnar Viik_Enics Elva Partner Day

Linnar Viik – Technology Visionary

My colleague is smarter than me. And my colleague is machine.

This may sound like statement from science fiction movie but in reality all industries and economic sectors are witnessing the rapid increase of machines succeeding not any longer only in routine, simple tasks but more complex areas requiring learning, collaboration and adoptive skills. Biggest challenges in new, smart industrial (r)evolution are not related to technologies and their capacities but people and organisations ability to adopt with life, cultural and social norms, behaviours and patters that are changing faster than ever. In 1917 revolutions took place over weekend, in 2017 the revolutions last for decades. We tend to overestimate the short term implications of technologies and underestimate the long term implications. On these long term and irreversible implications the presentation will focus.

About Linnar

When traversing the European tech scene of the last 20 years, you’ll likely run into Linnar. He’s a former executive at Skype and Fortumo, advisor at the Nordic Investment Bank, and Board Member of the European Institute for Innovation and Technology. Linnar lectures innovation management in Estonian IT College and Tartu University and has been advising Estonian and many other governments on ICT and innovation policy. Linnar is co-founder and member of the board of Pocopay – all European everyday banking app and Mobi Solutions – active investment and holding partnership in European startup scenery.

    Eveli Punnison

Eveli Punnison – HR manager, Enics Elva

Employees - The Key to Business Success

Enics Elva has won several recognitions and awards for their actions regarding its versatile education and in-service training conception for its employees. Those include, for example, German Economy award 2016 in Estonia, the best HR project of the year in Estonia for implementing a multiskillness concept, and the most education friendly organization of the year 2014. During her session, Eveli will give us an insight into the key success factors and how crucial human collaboration and impacting together is.

Eveli says: "For the growing organization, it is always important to perform efficiently and adapt to the new and ever-growing needs and requirements. So we have to ensure competent human resources and the quality of work, especially in the organization which is characterized by complex processes and variability. This is exactly what we are going to talk about during the Partner Day."
