Based on the proven concept of top speakers, mingling and networking, the good spirit and open communication made it once again the “best fair ever”. Enics Fair 2013 took place 24th of September in Malmö, Sweden.
This year Enics Fair concentrated on LEAN as a key element for further enhancing flexibility, quality and overall performance. The keynote speaker was Jonas Svanäng from reLean. Within his outstanding performance, he gave an insight into his experiences as a LEAN specialist, including Enics Fair 2013_Jonas Svanäng reLean_Lean on Usexamples from Toyota – world famous for its successful lean practices. “You can’t copy the Toyota manufacturing system. That is just not working. However, you can start the LEAN journey of the Toyota way”, was one of his key messages. According to Jonas, LEAN means e.g. not pushing for cost reductions but pulling for improvements. He also emphasized, that with LEAN you switch your focus from “We can’t do this because of …” to ‘What does it take to do it?”. Miroslav Sagan, Lean Manager at Enics Group, caught up in his adjoined speech and presented the LEAN at Enics to the audience.
However the LEAN speeches were just the second highlight – the first one was the introduction of Enics CEO Hannu Keinänen. He gave insight into the Enics strategy and the lean initiatives in the company. Hannu emphasized: “To be very clear – the Enics strategy with our vision and mission is valid and in force. We are as a company solid regarding our finances and performance.” Open communication, focus on values and trust were not only statements he made during his speech but they were very much “in the air” and made this event from another very good one to – again – the “best one ever”.
All Enics’ general managers were presenting their business units with their unique factors. This was the opening to the exhibition part, which combined meeting our partners, mingling and networking with sitting together and having lunch.
It was a great opportunity for all participants but of course especially for us as the partner, to have the “Customers Voice” with Axis. Per Ädelroth, Vice President Operations and Chief Supply Chain Officer, offered insight into the Axis philosophy about partnership – a strong pillar in their goal to grow. Further on, an interesting market trend and component life-cycle update was given by IHS iSupply and Lean activities overview by Gary Atkins and Timo Rissanen from Murata.
In conjunction with Enics Fair, Enics suppliers of the year 2013 were awarded. Avago Technologies and Avnet Electronics Marketing were announced as the best suppliers serving „One Enics“ based on their good customer care, good delivery performance, product quality and true long term partnership.

The discussion and presentations today have been excellent and mind-opening. I am confident that joint route utilizing LEAN will lead to innovation and continuous improvement and will take our customers, suppliers and us further on in the path of growth and success“, stated Hannu Keinänen, President and CEO of Enics.
There is no Enics Fair without a common dinner – this time was enriched by the magic of the Nordic Magician Champion. But even her stunning skills faded against Hannu Keinänen’s version of Frank Sinatra’s song “My way” – now “We do it the Enics way”.
One highlight of the Enics year is successfully over – the next one is already waiting: Enics Asian Partner Day will take place on 6th November in Shanghai. The clear goal is to make it the best partner day ever.
